Fathers and Sons, right on target with latest adventure
30th March 2009
Fathers and Sons Whakatane held their busiest adventure to date on Saturday with 47 males taking part in a day of Archery held at the Whakatane Archery Club head quarters. “So many turned up that we had to split into two groups, one played soccer in the middle whilst the other learnt how to safely use a bow and arrow, then we swapped around” said father and co-organiser Dan Wonacott.
Archery Club president and a tutor for the day, John Huntingdon said, “ the turnout far exceeded our expectations and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves, with quite a few asking for membership details for the club”. The club meets the 1st and 2nd Saturday of each month at 1pm and 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month at 9am. Club fees are thought to be the cheapest in New Zealand at only $30 annually for seniors and $15 for juniors. For more info contact John Huntingdon (pictured left, instructing Alfie Hamer) on 07 3238147.
If you’re keen to take part in the next Fathers and Sons adventure to Rotorua in April or any of their other up and coming events, contact Richard on 027 3257792.
